Fort Klock Hammer-In

Fifth Annual Fort Klock Hammer-in
“A Blacksmiths’ Gathering”
June 8th and 9th, 2013 - Smithing 9 to 5PM

Come one and all to the fifth annual Fort Klock Open Hammer-in! This blacksmithing event will be held in the 1811 smithy on the grounds of Historic Fort Klock in St. Johnsville, NY on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of June. Come for the day or the weekend!

We’ll have two forges fired up for demonstrations and instruction. If you have a portable forge there is PLENTY of space for you to bring yours and you’re encouraged and welcome to do so! Those wishing to demonstrate or teach please let Steve know ASAP. We are currently seeking skilled demonstrators.

We plan a Pot-Luck Lunch, and we’ll be grilling some sausages.

If you've never tried your hand at blacksmithing but always wanted to do so now is your chance! Make a tool and bring it home with you.

The Fort's colonial buildings will be open for public tours this weekend.

There are open fields for camping with plenty of space for tentage. Folks wishing to camp, or set up on the evening of Friday the 7th are more than welcome to do so, please inform the event co-coordinator Steve Gurzler if you intend to do so.

There is no fee however any and all donations to the Fort would be GREATLY appreciated; there is much to be done here at the Fort including restoration of an 1896 bellows.

Reenactors and musicians welcome.
